Children's Preparedness Day!

Target, Miami-Dade Public Schools, and Miami-Dade County's Office of Emergency Management: Ready Kids for Emergencies


(MIAMI, September 23, 2014) – In support of National Preparedness Month, children from Leisure City K-8 Center and Madison Middle School will partner with Target Team Members and Miami-Dade Emergency Managers at Miami-Dade County’s Emergency Operations Center, 9300 NW 41st Street in Doral, to develop individualized home disaster plans. The event begins at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2014.

Students will identify area hazards, conduct a personal risk analysis, draw up a diagram of their home identifying its safe room, and participate in a tour on fire safety from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s Office of Public Education.
